It was my mum that taught me to bake, right from me being very young she would spend afternoons with me, and my sister once she came along, baking lots of different cakes and biscuits. Fairy cakes were always one of my favourites to do, along with a jam swiss roll and coffee kisses! So yeah, I’ve kind of been doing this a while – Thanks mum!

Cakeupartist came about after one afternoon, a bit of boredom and lots of picture posts on twitter! I posted a LIVE step by step fairy cake tutorial online for all my friends on twitter as I made a batch of cakes for a meeting we had later that day. It went down a treat to say the least – as did those cakes!

One of those friends, Dave McAleavy, kindly purchased www.cakeupartist.com for me that evening as a gift… so here we are!
